In the study, participants were invited in groups of two to qualify a fictitious person in personality traits. On the way to the evidence room, each couple was greeted in the lobby and one was given a cup of hot coffee and other cold iced coffee. The researchers consistently found that the participant with a cup of hot coffee tends to see the test subject as a warm person, while drinking cold coffee participant was slower to ‘warm’ to him / her. They said it was much easier for a participant to pick traits as trustworthy, personal integrity with a nice hot cup of coffee than a cold beer in hand.
